At Escape we want to stay up to date. We attend many trainings that are helpful in day-to-day work, such as CalPERS forums, the Business of Software conferences, and School Services of California Workshops. In addition to these workshops and conferences, we also host internal training sessions for Escapees to share their wealth of knowledge and learn from each other.
As you know, as of December 2017, the HR/Payroll team has taken over the support of the Employee Online Portal. To get the rest of the support team up to speed on portal ins and outs, Tim Clayton and I put together an internal training. Both HR/Pay and Finance support teams, as well as a group of developers and managers joined in for a three-hour training. We covered Employee Online activities, such has My Info, My Benefits, My Payroll, and Timesheets. Then, we looked at the required setup in Escape Online 5, including some behind the scenes setup. Tim and I provided the team with information on the systems and tools they need in order to troubleshoot issues related to Employee Online.
We encourage trainings and professional growth for Escapees and we also look for opportunities to invite our Escape Family to participate. Some of my favorite ways to learn are online documentation, Collaboration Days, webinars, tutorials and of course, our blog articles. We make an extra effort to make it easy for the Escape community to access our resources and to collaborate. Everything you need to learn is at your fingertips!
Tanya and Tim put together a great training. My favorite part of the training was the SQL queries that Tim and Tanya shared with the group to help troubleshoot issues at the database level. I am excited about our new product and I’m convinced that the support team is well equipped with the resources they need to tackle portal issues that come their way.
