Gaze Into the Future with Our Crystal Ball
Escape is always looking at new and better ways to generate and display reports for end users. We have pored over report statistics and listened to our customers and decided it’s time for a change. All of our developers have moved forward from using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to the latest version of Microsoft’s development environment which is Visual Studio 2010. This change has brought along with it some major enhancements. One in particular is the new Crystal Reports 13 development and runtime environments. Beginning in Escape Online 5 version 11.03, Escape will be releasing new export options for integrated reports which use the new Crystal Reports Runtime for Visual Studio 2010. These new features will require some additions to the Online 5 application servers. The Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 will be required on all application servers. We will be including these with the update to version 11.03, as well as posting them to our FTP site for you to download in the event you would like to install them prior to the Escape Online 5 software update. If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 2008, you will need to install the x86 version of SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 before installing the x64 bit version. Note: The application server requirement changes for reports in version 11.03 are app server only and do not require additional 3rd-party software to be installed on the client workstations.
