Year end can be very stressful. There are a lot of documents that you need to make sure are complete: vendor requisitions, stores requisitions, department requisitions, accounts receivable invoices, payments, and work orders. How do you find out if all of these records are complete or not?
The Fiscal Year End Checklist (Fiscal15) is designed specifically to help you find all of the outstanding requisitions, direct payments, employee payments, journal entry encumbrances, and AR invoices that must be addressed to close the fiscal year.
A checklist! Brilliant!!
Of course, you can run this report at any time, but it is most handy at year end.
As you can see, the report criteria is pretty neat and clean.
And the report itself is really easy to read and use as a checklist. (Click on the sample to see an entire "live" report.)
This is a smart report too! When you are done with all of your year end documents—you have closed everything or carried over or accrued or whatnot—you can run this report one last time from the Fiscal Year Status activity and if doesn't have any outstanding items, it will "unlock" the Create Closing Journal Entries task. This ensures that your closing journal entries are complete and will not need manual modifications.
