Employee Spotlight: Lynn Mann
Lynn Mann is one of the new employees that Escape Technology has hired in the last few months. We have hired four and over the next four weeks, you will get to meet all of them, Employee Spotlight style. Lynn previously worked for a software company where she managed the finance group, and most recently she worked as a consultant where she implemented the financial modules of the software including analysis, setup, training, reporting, and support. She started with Escape last November.
What is your favorite part of working for Escape? — I like that every person at Escape makes a difference and nearly all of us have direct customer contact.
Can you give us a quick play-by-play of your average work day? — So far, I’ve been in training so I don’t really have play-by-plays of an average workday. That’s coming soon though, and I imagine it will be working on incidents, doing a lot of detective work, and exchanging information and ideas with coworkers.
What have been some of the highlights of your career? — One of my highlights was actually changing careers. I went from doing accounting at a software company to working with customers doing software implementations. It really challenged me, but I learned a lot and found that I really enjoyed working with people.
What are your favorite activities or things to do when not working? — Photography, hiking, walking, biking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and 3 dogs.
Where are you from originally? — I usually say San Jose because I lived there the longest growing up. I was born in L.A. and also lived in Hawaii, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Alaska.
If you weren’t a Customer Care Representative, what would you be? — I would be a Travel Photographer.
What is your favorite food? — I just can’t narrow it down to one thing. I’m definitely a snacker, so I really like most things that are sweet or salty.
What is your ringtone? — Just the one that came with my phone.
If you could meet one person, who and why? — Probably Oprah, even though I’m not really into her anymore. I think she has met so many people and done so much that she would be really interesting to talk to.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? — I would love to be able to transport myself magically. No sitting at the airports or in traffic for me!
