From Escape Classic to Escape Online5
I was reading our March 20th blog from Gayle about San Ysidro School District going to Escape Online 5. They’re the last customer we’ll be converting from the PSL module. Since these Classic conversions are winding down I thought back on all of the other customers I’ve helped to convert in my time here at Escape. When I joined Escape in 2008 the conversion for Sacramento City USD was just finishing up. I took over the conversion post starting with county and 8 separate districts for Alameda COE. After that came South Orange County CCD. Then the list grew to Fairfield-Suisun USD, Gateway USD, Redding SD, Cupertino Union SD, Marysville Joint USD, Antelope Valley UHSD and finally Escondido USD. All were successful Online 5 implementations thanks to a team effort of Escape software developers, project managers and of course the staff at the customer sites.
A conversion is considered complete when the customer moves from a project support perspective to Escape Customer Care. A smooth transition can be viewed as the final ‘task’. Some of the customers seemed hesitant to leave Classic which is a tribute to the product’s longevity. They’ll find this same quality, and considerably enhanced functionality, in Escape Online 5. As one who has worked many types of conversions over the years, I’ve enjoyed working on these and was happy to help our customers make the move. On to San Ysidro!
