Escape in the Rough
It always amazes me the amount of heart that Team Escape has to offer the community. Last week, 16 Escapees gathered at Whitney Oaks Golf Course in Rocklin to brave the heat, smoke, and dangerous wildlife to help raise money for the Sierra College golf teams. Following a BBQ lunch, members endured hours traversing the rugged landscapes within the confines of small, non-air conditioned carts as they participated in an 18-hole golf scramble. Reminiscent of the farmer tilling his fields, Escapees laboriously attacked the fairways with our 9-iron hoes, refilling divots with hard-earned sweat & tears, but filling our hearts knowing that we were working together for a greater cause.
This is the 3rd year in a row that Escape has participated in the Sierra College golf tournament, and I look forward to donating more of my time in future events.
- Of the 4 Escape teams, Team Chad was the big winner with an impressive score of 82.
- No windows, deer, or turkeys were hurt during the tournament
- Aprox. 118 balls were lost by Escape members
- Escape teams captured a total of 18 pars, 1 birdie, and dozens of double bogies
