Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 (AB 1522)
We recently started receiving questions about AB 1522 and how to use Escape Online to fulfill this new regulation. So, I wanted to assure you that we are aware of this new law and we are discussing how we can help you. For those of you unfamiliar with the new law, here's a quick summary. The Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 (AB 1522) was signed into law on September 19, 2014. This act requires employees to provide sick leave to employees who work in California for 30 or more days within a year. The sick leave is accrued at a rate of no less than one hour for every 30 hours worked. Although and employee can limit an employee's use of paid sick days to 24 hours or 3 days each year.
Now, this new law doesn't go into effect until July of next year but, here at Escape, we like to get ahead of these types of changes.
