School Services of California and Friends

Attending the School Service of California workshops helps keep me current on what’s happening in the world of school business. It also gives me the chance to see customers and old friends. On July 10, I ran into Doug D’Amour (Director, Financial Support Services) and Dina Stewart (Director, District Business and Advisory Services) from Alameda County Office of Education at the California School Finance and Management Conference.

It’s always nice to see Escape staff at professional workshops. It’s good to know that they’re keeping up with the important issues in our business.

Doug and I go way back – all the way to 2008 when we met during the first hybrid cohort of the School Business Management Certificate Program through the USC Rossier School of Education. We attended a 5-day boot camp at the USC campus in Los Angeles and had a great week getting to know other students and cramming a lot of work and knowledge into a few days. Then we spent the next year working together in teams to finish the certificate program. How could I pass up a photo opportunity with a customer and friend?
