Great to See You at the CASBO Luncheon

I had the fortune to attend the 2016 Annual CASBO Holiday Luncheon. This is the second year I have attended and this year's experience was just as rewarding as last year's. The Escape team had a wonderful time, especially considering that we had a chance to visit with some new friends and some old friends.

Each year, there is a keynote speaker, as well as the wonderful people from the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento giving us a summary of the work that they do. Attendees were encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for the children at the receiving home. (A special thank you to my co-worker, Arin Simonyan for shopping for all the gifts that Escape donated.)

This year the keynote speaker was Kevin Bracey, a motivational speaker who has traveled all over the country speaking to students, school staff and business professionals about finding greatness in yourself and others. Mr. Bracey spoke to us about the challenges that he faced as a child and how he overcame them to find success. He discussed the importance of the school staff in his life and reminded us all that we can and do make differences in the lives of the children we serve. He also discussed his “Reach One Each One” program, which encourages students and faculty to not only reach for their own greatness but also to reach out to others to find and appreciate their greatness.

If you have the opportunity to attend the annual CASBO Holiday Luncheon, it is a great experience. While there, keep a look out for Escapees in attendance. We love to see our customers!
