Escape Employee Management Certification - Sign Up Now!

Now is your chance to sign up for Escape Online Employee Management certification.

The Employee Management Certification course will focus on the management of employees, as opposed to the record itself. It will apply to both HR users and Payroll users with at least one year of experience in Escape Online. The agenda includes understanding dates, searches, exports, mass changes, and reports. We also plan on time for discussing and sharing workflows for new employees, terminating employees, regulatory reporting and how different organizations use alerts, follow ups, notes, and attachments. Of course, we will briefly discuss the tabs, permissions, categories and snapshots of the Employee record. This course will give you the tools you need to find and fix employment issues before they become problems.

Just like AP Certification, the majority of the course will be hands-on with numerous opportunities for collaboration and best practice discussions. Over the course of two days, attendees will gain practical work skills through extensive hands-on training. This program is designed to provide attendees with a live opportunity to learn directly from an expert in Escape Online and to exchange ideas and best practices with others in the school business community who share similar job responsibilities. A course workbook is provided for additional learning opportunities and resources.

The Employee Management Certification is an intensive two-day event, including an exam. Participants who attend the full course and obtain a passing score on the exam will be certified in Escape Employee Management, and receive a certificate and digital badge.

The class runs from 9am to 5pm. A light breakfast and a 1/2 hour lunch will be provided. Sometimes the classroom can be cool. Please dress comfortably. Business casual is fine.

Minimum requirements are proficiency in Escape Online and a basic understanding of the Employee record.

We know that the Employee Management Certification course will be just as popular and worthwhile. See what others had to say after attending the AP Certification course.

I enjoyed that we were given time to hear how other districts handle procedures and best practices. These types of meetings are a great chance for us to meet and pick the brains of others that do the same job.
The training was in depth and beyond my expectations.  Love the small class size, interaction, hands on, and even the test helped us retain all the good information.
I thought this was a great training! I really liked the book that was provided for our reference and that we were going through it during the training so that I can remember where things are better… I felt like I was back in school and loved being challenged with different questions rather than just purely lecture style.
This class is a win/win for counties and districts. Users learn, which creates less support tickets for the county and creates confidence in the users. Win/Win!

AP Certification at Yuba COE

What a great time we had at Yuba County Office of Education! We now have lots of new AP Certified users!

AP-Cert-Yuba-Mar-2019.jpg

What a great group from Yuba and Colusa COEs. A special thanks to Angela Kerwin, Fiscal Services, Yuba COE for hosting the class and for making sure everything was set up and ready to go before we got there!

We really had a terrific class! Everyone was eager to learn new tricks and new activities. Plus, we got to hear from users that LOVE using the Payment Transactions activity. I learned new ways of doing things myself, like this tip from Angelina Guizar, Accounting Specialist II – Business Services, Colusa COE: She creates a batch each week and adds payments to it all week. When she’s ready, she posts her batch to submit her payments for approval. Then, she goes to see each week what she’s done. I love it! Thanks for sharing, Angelina!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Our customers are the best! I learn so much from them, but they also learn a lot from this course! Here’s what two of them had to say about the training:

Love Terri! The certification course was very informative and she kept it fun!!
- Shelly Arrenquin, Accounting Technician at Marysville JUSD

Terri was a great teacher, made the class fun and interesting!!
- Angelina Guizar, Accounting Specialist II – Business Services, Colusa COE

There are still a couple of spots open at a county office near you! Check it out, and I hope to see you there!

AP Certification at San Joaquin COE

Let me introduce you to the newest members of the AP Certified group!

The happy group of newly certified San Joaquin County Escape AP users!

The happy group of newly certified San Joaquin County Escape AP users!

A HUGE thank you to Ed Babakhan, Division Director for hosting this event and for all everyone at San Joaquin County Office of Education, Information Technology Department for helping us set up the training lab and making sure all of the attendees had all their needs met! Such an awesome group of people!

This class was different because this was the first class where all attendees were from the same County Office. On the last day of the training several users told me that they learned SO much that they can’t wait to get back to their districts and try the new features like, Payment Transactions at the their office.

While we were there, the Escape AP users created their very own AP email User Group. They’re going to share information with each other about how they will start using the Travel and Conference order type!

Shasta COE Got Certified! Have you?!

One of the best parts about my job is getting to travel to our customers’ BEAUTIFUL locations! Shasta County Office of Education didn’t disappoint. Mt Shasta was majestic!

Sue Hunter, Executive Assistant, Shasta COE, did an excellent job setting up the training lab and keeping everyone happy! It was a great experience for ALL! The two certification classes we held at Shasta COE had four different counties in attendance. Shasta COE, Tehama CDE, Modoc COE, and Plumas COE were all represented!

I love hearing how differently districts process Accounts Payable. It’s even more valuable having all the attendees hear the differences and learn from each other! Everyone that attended learned a lot and was excited about taking their new knowledge back to their districts to use!

Here’s what a couple of attendees had to say about the class:

Terri did an amazing job teaching the class. We covered a lot of great and useful information. I walked away from the class feeling more comfortable with Escape and AP. Would recommend the class to anyone using Escape. Thank you!!!
- Elke Proscher, Accounts Payable Technician, Tehama CDE

Fast paced for new operators of Escape but very informal and the book as a reference is very helpful. Terri is an awesome presenter and Escape tech!
- Amy Farwell, Account Clerk I, Tehama CDE
