Escape Online Payroll Tracks All Types of Trainings

Last week’s blog on the Human Resource Essentials workshop talked about not only how important mandatory trainings are for all staff in the educational field, but how numerous those trainings are becoming.  This week’s blog will take a deeper dive into some of the features that make Escape Online the perfect place to keep track of all employee trainings.

If a specific training does not exist, it can be created in Escape Online by navigating to HR/Payroll – Setup – Employment – Education Training.

Once created, the training can be added to the Education tab in Employee Management:

Escape Online also has a new Education report (Employee23) that can be used to see which employees have taken which trainings, as well as to determine when those trainings may expire. This report applies to mandated and all of the other types of education records that may be in the system.

Lastly, a new field called Sexual Harassment Prevention Completion Date has recently been added to the Employment Tab (in the Employment Requirements section) in the 19.03 release.  Having this field, which will also be included on the Search Tab, Grid view, and Employee Details export, will ensure accordance with SB 1343 (Employers: sexual harassment training: requirements).

At a time when mandatory training has become of such importance, the last thing anyone wants is to be found out of compliance because an employee failed to complete a training.  Escape Online is a one-stop shop to track any training, thereby helping to ensure that both employees and employers are always informed of new policies and legal requirements.

Santa Cruz COE Is Live on Escape Payroll!

Santa Cruz County Office of Education began their transition to Escape Online in October 2018. We had an aggressive timeline to get all 11 districts (with a total of approximately 5,000 employees) live this July.

Everyone at Santa Cruz COE has worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition, and last week we processed their first payroll – July end of month.

Escape Technology provided pizza for lunch today to celebrate going live! Mary Hart, the Assistant Superintendent, Business, decorated the table with candy bars, which were explained in the card she read to everyone (see the photo). How sweet is that?!

2019 W-4 Proposed Changes

Changes could possibly be coming to your 2019 W-4 - Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate. The IRS issued a draft W-4 form in June that changes the information captured on the form. If the form were to be finalized as drafted, employees would no longer enter in their number of allowances; instead, they would enter in dollar amounts to more closely mimic the tax calculation. The IRS is currently seeking employer comments on this www.regulations.gov page with a deadline of September 18, 2018. Escape Technology is closely monitoring and planning for the any changes and will post upcoming plans on the Regulatory Changes page of our website.
