WE (DID NOT) BEAT THE ROOM

We love participating in teambuilding here at Escape Technology and it was time for the HRA/Custom PAT to select an activity to do together. We came up with various ideas, from cooking classes to indoor skydiving, before settling on an escape room.

We tested our puzzling skills at a local escape room called Beat the Room, where we attempted to beat the Captain’s Quarters. Working together, we cracked codes to unlock pieces of Black Bart’s treasure map with a little help from his friendly parrot, while he and his crew were ashore. On Black Bart’s ship, there were many puzzles that helped us unlock numerous padlocked treasure boxes that held additional clues and pieces of the map. The most amusing part of this adventure is that we did not realize there was a huge unlocked trunk with clues on solving one of the last puzzles remaining. Needless to say, we did not beat the room, but we did come very close and had a lot of fun trying. It was a great teambuilding experience. I think it's safe to say that it's something we’d all like to try again and would definitely recommend to others.
